Classification of stars

At the end of this activity, students should be able to:
– recognise a few of the best-known constellations
– explain the concept of stellar parallax

– explain the difference between apparent magnitude and absolute magnitude
– describe the radiation emitted by stars and explain how it can be used to estimate the surface temperature of a star
– name the spectral classes of stars
